The Brands Making Us Go 'Ooo I Like' Right Now

Welcome to our new fortnightly brand-focused article, where we'll be writing about the brands that have turned our heads each month.

We'll be updating you with our top brands, startups and freelancers of the moment. All hand-selected by the team at Words Do The Talking.

So... let's not waste any time and get started with our first brand in the spotlight.

This brand is one we've watched for a while and discovered after reading a mention in our Q & A with Distillers of Surrey (another brand making (tasty) waves). We get genuinely excited about each time they produce fresh content and show us what they've been up to. And it's that confident energy we are loving right now.

If you haven't met them yet, then please do thank us later. If you have, bravo you you're onto a good'un.

Introducing Ben Wells 1966. These guys are printing, foiling, embossing and die-cutting (we just taught ourselves what that meant) experts. For all things lovely and touchable and printed, they hit that sweet spot of traditional-meets-modern. So here's what we love about this brand.

1. Quality, oh such quality

Please just take 30 seconds to scroll through their Instagram feed. The quality of each print is delicious. Take for example the work below, no idea who this is for but either way we want to go there/ eat there/ buy from them/ just sit with them and stroke the imprint.

It's hard to resist running your finger across the screen to feel the 3D textures.

2. Subtly does it

They manage to keep their audience interacting with minimal social media posting, but to maximum effect. We are so used to being bombarded with social plugs by brands, that their posts tend to lose impact and meaning.

However, Ben Wells 1966 post every 1 to 5 days. And it's a refreshing change. Their social posts are concise, light and superbly visual. We could learn a thing or two from these folks(!).

3. Hello history

And finally, we love their story. This is a brand with heritage and history stemming back to 1966 funnily enough. And you can feel that brand identity throughout their work, who they collaborate with and via their About Us brand story on their website.

So, there we have it, our first article on the brands that have caught our attention.

Thank you for indulging us. And thanks for inspiring us Ben Wells 1966.

If there are any brands that inspire you, be sure to tell others about them and support them where you can. Feedback rules the world and we gain so much from it, as start ups and new businesses, so spare a minute to share a thought.

Here's another brand taking the world by storm, click here to meet the rather marvelous Drunken Mouse.
